I am currently taking a long pause between work projects. I have a flexible schedule and would enjoy sharing some of my free days with a new friend. I have taken more than a few breaks from work - usually months to a year -- and now more, as I engage in civic stuff that is a passion. I like the time between. These breaks are interludes in which one disconnects before finding the moment to reconnect - lots of free-floating passion. It brings chaos, with the potential for growth - and some time to play.
There is a tot playground next the pool where I swim. Sometimes I stand there and watch with a combination of amusement and amazement. The little ones are not in total control of their bodies, but as they bounce into each other, curious about what the strangers on the playground are up to, they so easily engage with one another -- maybe not friends for life, but friends for now.
As we move into the rainy season, it seems like the end of the bright promises of sunny days and the wait until spring, with its new possibilities. During this time, music is the balm that heals all. There is life-inspiring music, amazing food, and passionate love - yes, I understand not part of platonic! Aren't they the basic elements in Maslow's hierarchy of needs -- well something like that -- vital elements in living an enriching life. For me music is at its core and defines being human. It resides at the center of my passions and emotions. I have had some of my most moving experiences surrounded by a thousand or two other music fanatics. I love music, need it like food -- it nourishes my spirit. Unfortunately, I am only audience, a voyeur.
